Technical springs are usually invisible parts of our everyday life. They make our life easier and safer. Technical springs can be used in simple toys or in very sophisticated medical technology but also irreplaceable in both traditional and modern measurement technology. You will also find springs in all kind of vehicles and even in building technology. Springs are and remain a very effective energy storage element with a high degree of efficiency. The environmental conditions where springs are used can be very different from very low to very high temperatures, from vacuum to acidic atmosphere.

The essential foundations of technical springs are extensively researched and understood. However, the demands on the spring increase continuously. The improvements in research knowledge are meaningless if they cannot be implemented under industrial conditions. Therefore, a close cooperation between research and industry is a matter of special importance.

This diversity and the increasing demands on quality, dimensional accuracy and higher durability requires an improvement of this “simple” machine part, whose main property is to store mechanical energy, must be allowed for the demands of the future.

During the ICST, you will not only be able to attend academic lectures, but you will be also able to gather information about production technologies and measuring techniques from exhibition booths. In addition, you will have the chance to interact with engineers from around the world in the banquet that will be held after the lectures.

We will be happy if engineers, technicians, researchers and other business people engaged in spring and related industries, as well as their suppliers and customers, will participate in the 2nd-ICST and we look forward to welcoming you.
